The Kinship Story
Our story began with friendship and adventure. After extended time traveling the world to dozens of countries, sinking our teeth deep into our local community, making lifelong friends, and recognizing a global need for intentional, authentic hospitality, Founders Brooke and Bobby landed back home in Colorado Springs with a clear vision: create an awesome place to sleep and the easiest way to find friendship and adventure in Colorado Springs.
Through a values-driven start-up, we are creating a community-powered accommodation concept with courage, trust, adventure, generosity, and community at the helm. Our first endeavor in Colorado Springs is a friendly boutique hotel in the heart of downtown called Kinship Landing, the very first of its kind.
Here, locals and travelers connect to the best of the region's outdoor and cultural resources. We've found that having a place to launch from and land at makes all the difference. Our future vision: a worldwide network of different hospitality concepts, each cherished by the local community and contributing to the global family.

Our Journey
The Inpiration
Founders Bobby and Brooke Mikulas Travel slowly through the world, learning 17 countries and cultures. They land on a conviction to bring a new kind of hospitality to downtown Colorado Springs. During the trip, they overlapped shortly with long time friends Jason and Nate, and inspiration for outrageous hospitality was sparked. The two would later become founders and major keys to Kinship's final vision and success.
Startup, Design, Construction
With a strong founding team including 5th team member and Founder Loren, we crafted a vision and model. With the end result deeply informed by dozons of local creatives, neighbors, friends, and allies, we raised capital through local champions for community thriving. After purchasing a vacant infill lot in the New South End of Downtown Colorado Springs, we were able to build and bring a globally recognized, award winning Boutique Hotel, Cafe, and Bar with the staff and culture to match!
A new kind of hospitality
Kinship Landing opened its doors, welcoming travelers and locals alike to experience outrageous hospitality, authentic belonging, and a distinctly local experience. Tens of thousands have experienced the best of the Pikes Peak Region, starting in our hotel and launching to the real hero of the story, Colorado Springs. Life highlights happen all the time at Kinship and Homa Cafe + Bar. Featured in Forbes, Condé Nast Traveler, The TODAY Show, USA Today, and more, we became a must-visit destination in Colorado Springs.
What's next?
Our vision is to have a network of concepts that surrounds the globe, each cherished by and contributing to local community thriving. Where's next? We are carefully considering the right people, places, and passions that align with ours as we seek to multiply our five core values.
